The Wallow Lodge

The Wallow Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Operated by Wild Horizons – the largest eco-tourism operator in Victoria Falls – this sustainably built tented camp is located within a private game reserve on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, along the Masuwe River and framed by 1,800 hectares of wilderness, with incredible views of the Batoka Gorge. It’s only a short 20-minute drive from the Falls, putting you in close proximity to the action, while also ensuring a peaceful private retreat away from the hustle and bustle.

The open-plan main camp comprises a dining area where gourmet meals prepared by local chefs can be enjoyed, as well as a lounge and bar – with a swimming pool and sunken fire pit outside. Raised beneath the shade of ancient riverine trees, the 16 spacious tented canvas suites are furnished in earthy colours and lots of wood, and let the outside flow in. Unobstructed river views from your private balcony mean that you have a front row seat to the wildlife that comes to the banks of the river to quench their thirst.

While a visit to Victoria Falls is undoubtedly the highlight of a stay here, you can also enjoy game drives, and other activities – making for an all-encompassing adventure.

Committed to sustainability, The Wallow operates mostly on solar power, avoids plastic bottles and straws, and uses eco-friendly materials for decking. It’s a nature lover’s paradise, seamlessly merging modern comforts with the raw beauty of Victoria Falls National Park.
