A'Zambezi River Lodge

A'Zambezi River Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

A'Zambezi River Lodge is a five-minute drive from the mighty Victoria Falls, right on the edge of the upper Zambezi – 'upper' referring to its relation to the falls - and bordering on the Zambezi National Park.

Built in two crescent-shaped wings facing the river, the 87 en-suite rooms have balconies or terraces which either overlook the warthog-tended gardens, or the Zambezi River. Here they have a philosophy which applies to everything they do at the lodge: get it right, the first time. And indeed they have got it right with the friendly staff and immaculate grounds.

The lodge has several restaurants/ bars: the Amulonga at the river's edge is an award-winning restaurant which offers traditional dishes - warthog being amongst the favourites. Sebastian's, named after the resident hippo, offers incredible views over the river with the Victoria Falls plume as a backdrop. The Zambezi Bar is the main bar of the hotel and offers a view out over the mighty Zambezi River. Every night you are also treated to traditional music, song and dance while you eat; this is something which you have to see.

The Reading Room is a sanctuary if you are looking for a quiet place out of the heat, you can use this room to catch-up on some emails or to relax with a book before dinner.

Activities

You're really close to almost all the important attractions and places to see and with a dedicated activity desk, they can help you book any activities or highlights. Bonus!

Take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi from the lodge's private jetty or experience the falls from above in a helicopter. Take a forest walk on the edge of the falls. There are numerous adrenalin fuelled activities like bungee jumping and white water rafting if that is what you are after. Nightly singing and dancing by locals is something which you should not miss.

There's plenty to do and if you aren't sure when, where or how, just ask for assistance. It's that simple.
