The Claremont Boutique Hotel

The Claremont Boutique Hotel

Cape Town
5 stars

Sabi Sabi Collection’s first property outside the bushveld is a heritage hideaway in Cape Town’s leafy Claremont suburb.

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Renowned for its luxury South African safari lodges, it’s not surprising that Sabi Sabi’s first urban expansion carries the same trademarks – an immersive setting with lush surroundings and a natural indoor-outdoor floor that invites nature in.

Located in the affluent suburb of Claremont, around the corner from Kirstenbosch Gardens and an easy 20-minute drive to the V&A Waterfront and central Cape Town, the 1928 manor was created more than a century ago as Cape Dutch homestead The Andros. While thoroughly updated, its original charm remains, thanks to high gables, sash windows and timber touches.

With only 15 rooms, a stay here feels like taking up residence in a private home. Choose from generously sized Classic Rooms and Deluxe Rooms – some located in the Manor House, others opening onto the tranquil gardens or the pool – or the exclusive-use Sauer Villa, which comes with its own entrance and pool.

Guests are encouraged to feel at home, relaxing in the sun-dappled conservatory or on the tree-shaded terrace, browsing the book collection in the safari-inspired library and enjoying soothing treatments at the spa.

Throughout the day, social hub Koffiehuis serves a serious brew made with sustainably sourced coffee beans, as well as all-day High Tea. Come evening, gather at 1928 Craft Bar to taste rare vintages, cocktails, small-batch gin and craft beer, before dinner at Veld & Vine Bistro, where farm-fresh Western Cape flavours come with a Mediterranean touch.

A stay here means to have the best of both worlds on your doorstep. Explore Claremont’s quaint cafés, enjoy outings to the lush Kirstenbosch Gardens, go on hikes in the Constantia greenbelt, and drive to the Constantia Wine Valley for exceptional wine tastings and world-class food at some of Cape Town’s top restaurants. Golf enthusiasts can also tee off at renowned golf courses in Steenberg, and with the V&A Waterfront nearby, you’ll have easy access to the Atlantic Seaboard and its many attractions.
