It also offers the best of both worlds – while Camps Bay Beach is just across the road, the slightly tucked away location behind an apartment block means that you can retreat once you’ve had your fill of the Camps Bay action.

Best described as beach-enclave-meets-mountain-cottage, the glass-walled hotel features minimalist interiors interspersed with plenty of natural wood and slate. If you’re not planning on spending much time indoors, book one of the Mini-Mountain pod-style rooms, or the slightly larger Mountain rooms. For more comfort and better views, the Classic or Luxury rooms are just the ticket – while the Terrace Pool rooms come with their own patio and plunge pool, and the Deluxe corner suites open up onto a private balcony with sweeping views, double open showers, and bath tubs big enough for two.

The hotel only serves breakfast, but will happily plate deliveries from local restaurants and set up lunch or dinner for you in your room or at the pool. During summer, complimentary wine and canapés are served on the terrace at sunset, before you head out for dinner at one of the numerous restaurants lining the palm-fringed Camps Bay strip.
