Grass pitches and river views make this a great camping ground. All the facilities you need are catered for including solar powered electricity, a fireplace and shared ablutions. Keep in mind there’s a tap but no fresh water, the bathrooms are open-air and you’ll need to remember your own braai grid.
It’s peaceful in camp and you’ll enjoy the sounds of the river right there ahead of you. Sit and watch. Experience nature and be on the lookout for wildlife. At night, listen out for grunting hippos. Stay clear of the water’s edge this is there domain too.
Take a dip in Ngepi’s famous ‘Croc Pool’, an ominous floating swimming pool on the river. You might be a little hesitant at first, but you’ll be more than willing when the sun starts to bake. Enjoy activities booked at the main camp or go it alone to explore the surrounds. Sunset calls for a refreshing beverage come day end and at night you’ll marvel at the night skies cooking dinner over the fire.
Right on the banks of the Okavango River, you’ll be wanting to explore the water. Go on a mokoro safari, boat cruise or fishing trip to get the most of the place you find yourself. Then there’s birding, village walks, game drives, a bushman art excursion or a visit to the nearby Popa Falls.
You can book activities with Ngepi Camp or go on self-drive game drives to explore Popa Falls and the Mahango Game Park on your own.
