Moon Mountain Lodge is a rustic-looking luxury tented camp in the Namib-Naukluft Nature Reserve, just 50km from Sossusvlei. Each tent looks out over the desert, where the changing light enhances different aspects of the landscape, giving it an other-worldly quality which you will not soon forget. Watch the sun set from your own private deck, or catch the sunrise without even getting out of bed. The lodge is built on stilts, so all the rooms are raised and offer incredible views over the vast, empty desert.

Despite its modern touches, Moon Mountain Lodge has a rustic feel to it and is decorated with African artworks, lots of wood, and desert-related scenery. You have the choice of three from standard to super-luxurious. The standard rooms have an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower, while the luxury tents have private splash pools on decks looking out over the arresting scenery.

The lodge has an in-house restaurant called the Nebula that serves traditional Namibian food with a contemporary flourish and is open for breakfast, lunch and supper. The Cosmos Bar has a large outdoor deck from which you can see can experience the night sky, free from air and light pollution. Rooms are not fitted with TV's, but the lodge does have a small cinema, with a large flat screen TV, surround sound, DVD player and satellite TV.
