Melozhori

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Melozhori reserve offers a private safari lodge, a self-catering cottage, a luxurious Treehouse, and two romantic Eco-Pods. The area is in a predator-free reserve with jaw-dropping views and a mix of local wildlife and plants. The staff are fantastic, making sure you have a great time whether you’re chilling out or going on a game drive or nature walk with one of their knowledgeable guides.

The lodge itself is a relaxed, thatched building with a huge lounge and dining area. You can enjoy the amazing views from the timber deck and rim-flow pool. There are four spacious en-suite bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and some with a fireplace. Each room has its own private deck with views of the dam and valley. Choose from inside or outside suites, with bathrooms that come with either a shower or bath.

The place is family-friendly, with lots of space for kids to explore and safe game drives that they’ll love. It’s designed to feel like a home away from home, with comfy sofas around a log fire and a fire pit for those warm summer nights under the stars.

All your meals are included, and you can have them whenever and wherever you like. There’s plenty to do, from game drives and nature walks to star gazing, bird watching, fishing, and cycling. If you’re into mountain biking, there are some great trails to check out, and the reserve has even hosted some big biking events.

For a special touch, you can enjoy a sundowner picnic in the veld, listen to the sounds of the African bush, and maybe treat yourself to a spa session with a travelling therapist. They also offer childminding if you need it, so you can really relax.

With over 18 types of game and 129 bird species, Melozhori is a perfect stop on your Garden Route adventure. This area is famous for its stunning mountains, beautiful valleys, sandy beaches, and lively local culture, making it a must-see spot in South Africa.
