Maramba River Lodge is an easy-going, easy-to-reach safari-style lodge on the Maramba River 4km from Victoria Falls inside Zambia's Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
Accommodation is in either thatched chalets or en suite Meru-style safari tents. The chalets are separate units with thatched roofs, handmade iron furnishings and a small patio overlooking a waterhole or the Maramba River; the safari tents have en suite bathrooms, with a shower open to the sky, a front deck with river views and double or twin beds.
The main lodge is on the river's edge with a large open terrace beneath some shady trees. The sunken fire pit makes for a delightful evening as the sun sets and the campfire tales begin. Dining is a la carte with private tables and hearty fare with several choices and South African wines.
The swimming pool is a great feature of Maramba River Lodge with natural rocks and a poolside bar and snack menu. The lodge has an activity booking office with all the possible activities in Victoria Falls on offer including the fabled lunch on Livingstone Island followed by a swim in the pool just above - the pictures look terrifying but it's completely safe.
Maramba River Lodge has just one in-house activity: relax. For the rest you may utilise the complimentary services of their activity booking office to organise, among many options, tours of Victoria Falls, the Flight of Angels, Livingstone Island lunch and swim in Devil's Pools; rafting and bungee jumping; museum visits; cultural tours; craft markets; sunset river cruises; scenic flights; game viewing.
