Set on the Linyanti Marsh in northern Botswana, Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp enjoys a remote location within one of the country’s most productive wildlife regions. Bordered by the Linyanti River to the north, and the sporadic Savuti Channel to the south, the surrounding floodplains and wetlands attract exceptional game, including large concentrations of elephants, predators moving through the area, hippos in the channels, and abundant birdlife. The camp offers the perfect base from which to explore the extraordinary Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.
The exclusive-use camp sits on the banks of the Linyanti River, tucked under tall riverine trees. Comprising 2 small satellite camps, each with 4 explorer-style tents, it is the perfect hideaway for families or groups looking for a private safari adventure.
The camp’s style is intentionally pared back, blending elegant minimalism with the spirit of early African safaris – think classic canvas, raised decking, and understated furnishings. The slightly elevated main camp area looks out over the marsh and floodplain. Open-sided and shaded, it allows for a natural indoor-outdoor flow from the lounge, dining area, and long bar counter – all furnished in a clean, contemporary African style.
Guests can encounter huge numbers of buffalo and elephant herds all along the channels. Track predators on the prowl on game drives, and learn more about the wildlife on a guided nature walk. Back in camp, enjoy lunch in the shade of a huge fig tree, soak up the views from the pool deck, and spy wildlife from the tucked-away log-pile hide.
The tented suites are comfortably spacious, each with a double bed, writing desk, ample lighting and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The tent opens onto a small private deck, offering uninterrupted views across the floodplain and the wildlife passing through.
Evenings mean gathering around the sandy firepit set above the hippo-filled wetlands, ideal for sundowners beneath the stars, followed by delicious feast of local specialities, cooked on an open flame.
As an exclusive-use camp, you can determine the pace of your safari adventure. You’ll have easy access to a combination of rich habitats, ranging from floodplains to open dryland savannah, woodlands, and lagoons – all magnets for big game and birdlife, which guests can encounter on thrilling day and night game drives, and guided nature walks.
