This is an ideal halfway stopover between the capital, Windhoek, and the far southern reaches of the Fish River Canyon.
The campsites aren’t far from the farmhouse, where you will also find the swimming pool and more green lawns under a thicket of lush verdure. It really is an oasis out here, thanks to the abundance of artesian water. Beneath the trees, poolside, it’s hard to believe you are in the middle of red sand savanna.
Kalahari Farmhouse, a working farm, grows all its own produce and vegetables. Not just for itself, but supplying all of the Gondwana properties throughout the country.
Ice and wood are available at reception and talking about all that fresh produce, you can order braai packs from the kitchen too. Pitch your tent under the shade and relax. Light a fire and enjoy the peace and quiet under the Namibian starry skies.
There are no activities offered by the farmhouse itself, but you are welcome to book and do activities at sister Gondwana property, Kalahari Anib Lodge, which is a mere 30km down the drag. They offer hiking trails, a morning scenic game drive and a scenic sunset drive.
At Kalahari Farmhouse you are more likely to just relax, enjoy the quiet, explore the incredible vegetable gardens or hang at the pool or on the lawn.
