First opening its doors to paying guests in October 2019, the Atlantic Garden Boutique Hotel enjoys a central Swakopmund location that brings the beach and city centre both within easy reach.
It’s just a few hundred metres walk from the lobby to The Mole Beach, with the shops, bars and restaurants of central Swakopmund not much further away. By all means drive here if that’s an option for you, as there’s a free underground car park in which you can leave your vehicle while enjoying the hotel’s facilities. And uniquely for this area, those facilities include a beautiful garden with a terrace and palm trees on which you can relax and reflect on a recliner, and maybe make plans for what you’ll do next – which could well be a bit more relaxing.
There are 20 air conditioned rooms which between them offer twin, double and family accommodation. The twins have 2 single or three-quarter size beds. Double rooms each have a kingsize bed, while the family rooms are home to 2 single beds and 2 sofa beds, each sleeping up to 5 guests in total.
All rooms have their own smart TVs showing DStv channels, plus a small fridge in which you can keep your favourite food and drink cool. Stay cool yourself in your room’s ensuite bathroom which features a shower, and keep refreshed using the tea and coffee making facilities provided for you. This being a modern hotel, there’s Wi-Fi in all areas as you’d expect.
A small restaurant serves delicious breakfasts, plus there’s a light lunch menu to pick and choose from, as well as coffees and oh-so tempting cakes. The garden terrace is a great place to relax with a snack, either in the sun or under the shade of palm trees if you prefer.
As well as being close to the beach, you’ll find plenty of restaurants serving all kinds of cuisine. So many, in fact, that you can spend a week here and not dine in the same place twice if you don’t want to.
Take your pick from a menu of activities that caters for thrill seekers as much as those after something a bit more relaxing. On the more active side of things, you can book skydives, cycle rides and sandboarding sessions, or go quad biking or even kayaking in the sea.For something slower paced, book a fishing trip, or a dolphin spotting cruise, or a tour of a township or the Namib desert.
