What is the best time of year for a self-drive safari, especially for wildlife in Etosha?

The best time for wildlife viewing in Etosha is during the dry season, typically from June to October, when animals gather around waterholes and visibility is excellent.

The green season (November to April) offers fewer animals but beautiful landscapes, fewer visitors and excellent birdlife. Roads can be softer after rain, but travel is still very possible with the right vehicle and planning.
