One of the newest additions to Namibia’s portfolio of luxury safari experiences, The Ekipa welcomed its first guests as recently as Feb 1st, 2025.
An exclusive sanctuary for 2 set amid mopane trees about 10km south of the Andersson Gate that opens into the Etosha National Park, The Ekipa is one of a kind, and is booked on an all-inclusive basis.
An Ekipa is a handcrafted button worn by Aawambo women as a symbol of wealth by the way. And there is certainly a wealth of reasons why you’ll want to be one of the first to stay here.
It’s a deep blue, two storey, air conditioned suite with a bedroom and ensuite bathroom with shower on the upper level, and an open plan lounge with dining table and kitchen below.
You’ll find all the appliances and cookware you need here, and the fridge and cupboards will be stocked with the food and drink you select ahead of your arrival, so all your tasty favourites will be here for you.
Your balcony and terrace provide vantage points from which you can use the binoculars provided to scan the skies and bush to spot wildlife roaming the area. There’s also an outdoor shower and BBQ that dial-up the luxuriousness of The Ekipa experience to the max. Perhaps best of all is the curvaceous plunge pool that’s all yours – an ideal place to cool off after hot days in the sun.
Other features of The Ekipa that contribute to the splendour of the experience include its private bar, the free Wi-Fi, the cosy fireplace in the lounge and the selection of liquid refreshments available in the Mini Bar.
Although The Ekipa is set above and apart from the rest of the camp of white roof tents that snake through the bush, in reality, it is only a short walk to the main lodge. That’s where you can park your vehicle, shop for curios and souvenirs, and arrange for your laundry to be done if required. You can also book activities here, safaris and game drives included, as well as self-guided walks and birding. Fine dining is also available should you wish to eat away from your suite for a change.
The Ekipa is designed for 2 adults only, with children aged 13 or under not permitted to stay here.
Guests staying at The Ekipa in Etosha can enjoy a range of activities that showcase the beauty and wildlife of the region. Game drives into Etosha National Park offer the chance to spot elephants, lions, rhinos, and a variety of other animals in their natural habitat. Guided nature walks provide a more intimate experience of the surrounding landscapes, while birdwatching is a treat for enthusiasts with many species to observe.
