Namib's Valley Lodge

Namib's Valley Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Roughly halfway between Windhoek and Sossusvlei, Namib’s Valley Lodge is a great stopover if you really want to slow down the pace. It is small and intimate consisting of just six rooms and, while they are basic, they offer the necessities for a comfortable stay and a view that could rival any of the greats in the area.

The lodge is perched atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the Ghaub Valley of a Thousand Hills. Undulating hills and brilliant night skies is pretty much what this place is all about and you’ll be happy to stay as long as you can.

When people talk about a place being ‘good for your soul’, they are speaking about Namib’s Valley Lodge. It’s simple, down to earth and offers peace and tranquillity in abundance. It’s as if time stands still here with only the mesmerising sunrise and breath-taking sunset to tell you otherwise.

It isn’t fancy but that’s its charm. Well that and the view, which we keep mentioning. Stay at the lodge or camp, there are also 3 campsites, seemingly on the edge of eternity, each with their own ablution facilities (with hot water) and erected structures for shade.

Activities

Given the location, walking seems the obvious activity to do here and there are loads of trails to choose from. You can also head off on 4x4 trails or a simply sit and relax.

There’s a chance to encounter wildlife as most roam free from the neighbouring Namib-Naukluft Nature Reserve, there is an abundance of birdlife and of course there’s the adapted desert flora too.
