Here’s a hotel that’s notable for its wraparound balconies that extend over three sides of the property, providing guests with raised spaces on which to relax and enjoy the views. And what about those views? Whoever built a hotel here knew what they were doing. The property is located on the edge of the Mantenga Nature Reserve, in the Ezulwini Valley just outside Lobamba town, and is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens.
The outdoor swimming pool is enclosed by plant life, giving the space a peaceful and secluded feel. The garden combines lush greenery with large boulders and is as popular with the local birdlife as it is with guests.
But this hotel’s reputation isn’t built entirely on the quality of its location and exterior of course. The service here is rightfully rated as outstanding and it’s perhaps at its best in the glass enclosed restaurant which serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. You can choose to eat at the covered patio area outside where a fireplace is lit to keep you warm in the evenings and during the cooler seasons. There’s also a bar, coffee shop and a picnic area that’s always popular with families.
You can look forward to stretching out every night of your stay, as the kingsize beds are extra long and feature comfy mattresses and quality 100% percale linen. There are just 8 air conditioned rooms in the hotel, each with an ensuite bathroom (with quality toiletries provided), lounge area with flatscreen TV, sofa bed and a kitchenette (with fridge, tea/coffee maker and microwave) - which could come in handy if hunger or thirst strikes outside of restaurant opening hours.
You’ll either get a room with a view of the Valley of Heaven or Sheba’s Breast Mountain (both are impressive), with big glass doors connecting the room’s interior to your private balcony, ensuring you see as much of your surroundings as possible. All rooms have a work desk and access to free Wi-fi.
This hotel is particularly popular with and highly rated by guests visiting with children. As well as the picnic area and family room, there’s a kid friendly menu in the restaurant and you can request a free crib in your room if needed.
The hotel is in an area that’s popular with hikers and cyclists, with forests to explore and waterfalls to discover. The small but perfectly formed Mantenga Nature Reserve is a must visit, and many guests opt to take a look at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Park where there’s a museum, gardens and a giant statue of the aforementioned monarch (2.5 miles from the hotel). Somhlolo National Stadium where football and rugby are regularly played is just over 3 miles away, while Mbabane Golf Club is under 10 miles from the hotel. Fancy a round?
