Kwalape Campsite

Kwalape Campsite

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Home. The place where you live. Perhaps with family. Perhaps with friends. It means something different to everyone. It may be humble, it may be grand. A happy place? Where the heart is? There’s no place like it... And Kwalape means home. In Setswana. Welcome.

8 camping sites including ones for overland and private tours. All are equipped with power points, water stand pipe and lighting. The sites can accommodate six people. The overland sites can accommodate up to 20. The sites are sandy and they’re pretty close together. You can also hear the road so you won’t feel deep in the bush but you are by the river and this is an ideal base to explore the area. You also get to share all the facilities of the main lodge.

Lodge Facilities

Campers can make use of the lodge facilities:

Activities

You’re on the Chobe River near the Chobe National Park so you obviously have all that wildlife bounty to enjoy. You can go on boat cruises and game drives and the lodge can help arrange trips for you.

Watch elephants in the river or hippos doing their wallowing thing. Giraffe and antelope come for a drink and you’ll no doubt see a predator or two lurking. The lodge has a small boat which is rather like a mobile hide. Good for photography enthusiasts.

As are the game drives. Impala are everywhere and giraffe tend to wander lots too. As do buffalo.

The Kazungula Ferry that crosses the Chobe River into Zambia is a little over 6 miles from the lodge.

If you want to go Victoria Falls day trips are on offer. They’re only about an hour’s drive away from the Lodge. Stunning, naturally. Lots for adrenaline junkies too. White water rafting, bungee, kayaking and more.

You can also fish, visit a nearby snake park or go to Mowana Golf Course.
