De Waterkant House

De Waterkant House

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

De Waterkant House is a private Cape-Georgian-style guest house that retained many of its original features, such as wide plank floors, sash windows, and a fireplace. Paired with a mix of local designs and antiques, as well as all conceivable modern conveniences, it makes for a highly atmospheric stay.

Located in the heart of the vibrant cobble-stoned De Waterkant district near the V&A Waterfront, the guest house offers a calm refuge from the flurry outside. Depending on which room you choose, you can enjoy harbour and city or Table Mountain views, with some rooms also featuring private balconies or patios.

On a warm summer day, enjoy breakfast on the wraparound terrace surrounded by potted citrus trees, and cool off with a dip in the splash pool after a day of exploring the sights. The cosy lounge and fireplace meanwhile keep guests warm during the cooler months.

Activities

You’ll have some of Cape Town’s biggest attractions on your doorstep, including the buzzing V&A Waterfront with its upmarket shops, restaurants, food markets, boat tours, and more; Bree Street, which is renowned as one of Cape Town’s most prominent food hubs; and the historic Bo-Kaap area. One of Cape Town’s oldest neighbourhoods, De Waterkant itself is popular with both locals and visitors, thanks to its charming cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, and lends itself to being explored on foot.
