Agama Tented Camp

Agama Tented Camp

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Your tent sits peeking out from the surrounding greenery, which seems surprisingly lush considering the area is known to be arid and dry. There's little else around you except the other tents and much wide open space. Bliss.

It's rustic and down to earth with the view and setting being the camp's greatest feature. It's basic but everything you need for a comfortable stay is catered for in your tent. There's a gas heater for the chilly nights, it does get cold in these parts, a swimming pool to enjoy in the heat of the day and incredible sundowners taking in that view from either your spacious deck or the bar.

It’s down a 10km dirt road, a normal sedan car can cope. There’s no parking at the tents but staff will carry your luggage. It’s a 50-100m walk.

You're 20km north of Garies and ideally located to explore the beauty of Namaqualand. This is the centre of the floral kingdom. Rest and relaxation are a given here, as are the brilliant night skies.

The wild flower routes are within an hours drive. There are flower maps available at reception.

Or drive to the top of the mountain to see oryx and wild flowers when they’re in season. Lots of hiking opportunities and good for mountain biking.

Hang out with the resident meerkat. Gomgat’s the name of the dude.
