The area is well-known as one of Botswana’s most pristine and serves up a big game safari with large herds of elephant and buffalo, lions, wild dogs and other predators.
In a private concession, you can head off-road to get closer to sightings and go on night drives. Your guide and tracker team are phenomenal and you’ll only ever share your vehicle with a maximum of five other people as its limited to six per car on game drives. Then there are also walking safaris as well as boat cruises and seasonal fishing.
Comprised of nine tented suites, it’s an intimate safari camp where the focus is on the bush and the surrounding wilderness. Even from your private deck, you could sit and watch the animals move along the Kwando River all day. Your suite is spacious with a sunken lounge area and you have a bath and an inside and outside shower, again with that incredible view.
Land- and water-based activities are offered year-round. Game drives, boat cruises, walking safaris and fishing (March through December) will fill your days.
Game drives are led by a guide and tracker. An extra set of eyes means a better chance to see all that you had hoped for and while your tracker is looking for spoor, your guide is able to share his bounty of knowledge and answer your questions.
The double deck boat is the ultimate for sunset safaris on the water. Meander as the sun salutes the day and you relax with drink in hand. This is how a day on safari should end with sightings to boot.
