From glampers to romantics, families to groups of friends, the variety of accommodation that’s available at Jaci’s Safari Lodge means there’s something for everyone at this Madikwe Game Reserve destination, located in a grove of Tamboti trees by the Marico River.
The thatched roofs and low stone walls deliver a glamping experience you’re unlikely to forget in a hurry. For an idea of the style of the interior décor, think bright, vibrant, and African.
The lone bedroom is set in an open plan area with your bed arranged either as a kingsize or twins (depending on what you request). Air conditioning and ceiling fans will do the work you require to keep the temperature in your suite at the sweet spot.
A large bathtub with hand crafted mosaic patterns makes freshening up a pretty memorable experience in itself. But if you’re in a hurry to get to dinner or out into the reserve, give your private outdoor stone shower a try. Twin wash basins in your suite mean each of you can line up your lotions and store your shampoos around your sink, your way.
The luxuries keep coming thick and fast here at Jaci’s, with your private viewing deck looking directly into the game reserve where all sorts of wildlife pass through all year round. Perhaps you want to watch nature’s show with a little something from your own gin bar or mini bar in hand?
Ideal for families, the large Nare Suite Villa sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms and a loft room, while the even bigger Safari Suite Villa sleeps 8 in three bedrooms and another loft room.
All bedrooms are ensuite and each villa has an outdoor shower. Your villa also comes with the personnel to make your experience an even more enjoyable and relaxing one – namely a private chef, host and guide. And you get amenities to make your experience memorable – most notably a private game viewing vehicle and your own swimming pool.
Romance is not just in the air in these private and modern suites. It’s in every wonderfully comfortable furnishing and in the incredible views of the reserve you get from your private viewing deck. Set over two levels, this accommodation gives you the chance to sleep a night indoors in the kingsize bed on the ground level and the next night outside on the rooftop extension in the starbed under the African sky (see, that’s how the suites get their name).
During the day, a lounge area with writers’ desk will help you relax and perhaps give you a chance to send messages to loved ones back home using the cheetah-fast Wi-Fi.
A lounge area with sofas and chairs gives you the chance to meet others living the high life alongside you at Jaci’s Safari Lodge. If it’s cool outside you won’t notice in here, as the copper fireplace keeps the room cosy.
Adjacent is the bar, a room fashioned from wood with copper highlights and a drinks menu that’s varied enough to ensure you can sip a glass of your favourite while taking in the views.
There are several places to eat your meals here, both indoors and outside, with an open plan kitchen enabling you to watch the chefs at work.
Two outdoor swimming pools give you somewhere to cool off on hot days and wind down or get some exercise, which can also be done in the outdoor gym on the site. The lodge also features a children’s playroom to keep younger adventurers occupied, and a gift shop which makes finding the ideal souvenir to take back home easy.
Jaci’s Safari Lodge offers a wide array of activities that showcase the beauty of the Madikwe Game Reserve. Guests can embark on twice-daily game drives with expert guides, exploring the reserve’s diverse wildlife, including the Big Five, wild dogs, and over 300 bird species. For a unique perspective, photographic safaris led by a professional guide provide opportunities to capture stunning shots from the Terrapin Hide, an underwater viewing hide. Walking safaris allow guests to experience the reserve on foot, learning about the smaller details of the ecosystem, from plants to animal tracks. Families can enjoy special activities tailored for children, including the Kids Safari Program, designed to educate and entertain young explorers. Evenings are perfect for relaxing under the stars with boma dinners, where guests can enjoy traditional cuisine and the warmth of a crackling fire. For those seeking serenity, the lodge offers spa treatments and opportunities to unwind while soaking in the stunning surroundings. Jaci’s Safari Lodge blends adventure, luxury, and family-friendly experiences to create unforgettable memories.
