Ichingo Chobe River Lodge

Ichingo Chobe River Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Hidden beneath a riverine canopy on the river banks, you’ll find 8 large, air-conditioned Meru-style safari tents, set a comfortable distance from each other. Designed in earthy colours, each tent features a balcony with scenic views of the Chobe River – the perfect spot to unwind and listen to the nearby rapids. There’s something wonderfully romantic about sleeping under canvas, serenaded by the soothing sounds of the river and wildlife, especially after an exhilarating day out on safari. We also love that two of the tents can be booked together to create the perfect family base from which to explore the lush landscape.

The main lodge pool is the perfect spot to cool off in, while the open-air, thatched-roof bar and lounge area offer a relaxing retreat from the heat of the day, or a celebratory sundowner. This is where you’ll also enjoy fresh African-inspired cuisine.

Activities

This popular tiger fish lodge offers the best location for catch-and-release fishing for the mighty tigerfish, as well as many other popular species along the Chobe River, Kasai Channel or Zambezi River. If you’re not into fishing, there are plenty of other activities, from thrilling river safaris and wildlife spotting to birding. Keen photographers can join a guided photo safari, and there’s also the opportunity to go on a guided Impalila Island walk to get to know the locals and experience life on the island.
