3 stars

Dundi Lodge is the definition of boutique. 4km from Augrabies Falls in the Northern Cape. Most rooms and the dining room open onto the pool and Dundi Lodge's privately owned Game Reserve is only 40 km away. You get sherry on arrival and there’s an airstrip. They’ll even give you a beach towel. Deep breath. Relax.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

The Game Reserve was established in 1966 and sits on the banks of South Africa’s longest river, the Orange.

Take a 3 hour drive with professional guides. Look out for giraffe, mountain zebra, aardvark, springbok, eland, red hartebeest and klipspringer. Guests can book with the park for guided or self drives.

Night game drives available too.

Clearly you must head to the falls. Go back along the boardwalk with your torch in the evening when they’re illuminated between 20:00 and 22:00. They’re softer, slightly more eerie at night than they are in the sunlight.

Dundi Lodge has a sister operation called Kalahari Out. They can organise river activities - rafting, fly fishing, nature paddles.

You can also go hot air ballooning.

Riemvasmaak Hot Springs are worth a look too.
