Mogotlho Safari Lodge

Mogotlho Safari Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Set on a private concession adjacent to both the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, Mogotlho offers a great base from which to explore the Mababe area, and venture further into the Moremi and Chobe, too. Best in dry season, Mogotlho offers a relatively affordable Botswana safari.

Built off-grid, the camp seamlessly merges with its lush surroundings. The main area features a large thatched-roof lounge, library and dining area, which flows onto an expansive deck with an outdoor bar, firepit and pool – the perfect spot for sundowners.

Shaded by riverine forest, the 11 well-spaced standard tents and 2 family tents enjoy a picture-perfect setting, complete with a private deck from which to observe the local wildlife. The area often sees large herds of elephants pass through, with many animals coming to the river to quench their thirst.

Activities

Go in search of buffalos, lions, hippos, leopards, and wild dogs on twice daily game drives, gain a different perspective on nocturnal drives, and discover bush walks and cultural visits to the Basarwa tribe. From April to October, you can also serenely glide along the waterways on a mokoro dugout canoe. And for a bird’s eye perspective, soar high above the Okavango in a helicopter – with the doors removed, you’ll be in a prime position to observe the wildlife and jaw-dropping scenery at your feet.
