Edo's Camp

Edo's Camp

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

The Central Kalahari is a world apart from the hydrous northern regions of Botswana. Here animals survive for months on end without a drop of water and life follows a gentle, timeless course in a land as old the dinosaurs.

Edo's Camp, on a massive private reserve on the edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, is a magical Kalahari experience. With just four tented en suite rooms with private balconies, accommodation is exclusive and the service is personal and intimate. Built on high wooden decks, the massive thatch-shaded tents, face a permanent waterhole naturally a big attraction in the semi-arid Kalahari basin.

From the central living area, a campfire at it's heart, Edo's Camp sits on the edge of Edo's Pan which attracts a great variety of African wildlife species not seen anywhere else in Botswana. The reserve has successfully re-introduced white rhino and a special highlight at Edo's Camp is rhino tracking with the San guides - a fascinating cultural experience on its own. Other interesting animals to see include the graceful gemsbok (oryx), hartebeest, springbok, hyena, meerkats and a good spread of common plains species as well.

Edo's Camp is a culturally and environmentally sensitive operation with a firm commitment to the local community. Sponsoring schools, orphanages and small business, the impact of this small safari lodge has had a positive outcome. Using solar power, the camp has a negligible carbon footprint and the only unnatural sound you'll hear is the whirring of your in-room fan - something you may not be too upset about in the heat of the desolate and beautiful Kalahari days.
