With 22 rooms, an enormous living area and a casual atmosphere, you can keep to yourself or mix with guests and staff as you please at Shishangeni – a rare treat in this day of boutique all-suite lodges.
The rooms fan out in two wings well spaced from each other and connected to the main lodge by lovely wooden walkways. Built of brick and thatch, the rooms are enormous and comfortably furnished. Each room has a large free-standing tub with a view of the bush through French doors, an outdoor shower, a separate toilet, a sitting area that opens onto a private deck, a dressing room, a mini bar and a double-sided fireplace for a romantic bath.
The main house is equally impressive in stature. The double-volume thatch, timber and brick construction has a delightfully decadent wooden game viewing deck running its entire length. The living area comprises a sitting area with a large fireplace, a service bar and a spacious dining area with individual tables.
The game viewing at Shishangeni Lodge, being a private concession, is both excellent and exclusive. The added bonuses are off-road traversing, open-sided safari vehicles and night drives. Your guide and tracker are born and bred in the area making your Kruger safari experience all the more interesting and authentic.
