Ten spacious sites.
Shower and toilet facilities are nearby with gas heated, hot water showers. Some say they’ve had a positively spa like experience with these. But they were probably out in the sun too long. Or had never been to a spa. Or maybe not? You decide. They are tiled and the toilets flush. Always an astonishing treat after weeks of bush camping. But they’re not lit at night so go al fresco or take a torch.
No power points - use facilities at the lodge (approx 2 kms away); Tap; Table and bench; Grill; Windbreak (you’ll be glad of it); Water point; BBQ packs available at the main lodge - you can also get wood, ice, meat and drinks at reception.
Facilities at the main lodge include a bar, swimming pool, WiFi (100mb free), laundry. You can also eat at the restaurant if there’s room - lodge guests take priority.
Several hiking trails run through the valley. The Vista Trail culminates in a rather splendid look out point where you can watch the sunset. Take a desert tour or go cycling - there are good mountain bike trails. Lüderitz is about 100 km away - whilst there you could also visit the deserted diamond settlement, Kolmanskop.
But perhaps the biggest draw is the plethora of wild horses. They have, on occasion, been spotted near the camp and there’s a good viewpoint at Garub (20 km away).
