Buffelsdrift Game Lodge

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

Accommodation at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge consists of the classic "safari tent" and if you've never been on a safari in Africa, here's your chance to allay your concerns about tented accommodation.

Your tent is the size of a bungalow on a large wooden deck with canvas walls and roof; the en suite bathroom has wonderful open-air shower - secluded from all but the birds above; and in front you have a spacious deck overlooking a seasonal dam with hippos in it or a watering hole frequented by wildlife day and night. Double or twin beds are available and the tents are air conditioned.

Game drives at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge are conducted in specially adapted safari vehicles with open sides for a clear view of the animals, birds, plants and views that your wonderful safari guide will show you. Traverse the private grounds looking for elephant, giraffe, zebra, white rhino, buffalo. wildebeest and several small antelope and plains species. You won't find predators or malaria here making it a safe family safari and there are over 200 birds to discover in acre after acre of beautiful African bush.

The large restaurant has an a la carte menu and a wine list showcasing the wine farms along Route 62. Spilling onto the deck, on clear nights you can enjoy a starlit dinner and the large log fire will be welcome on wintry nights.
