Vingerklip Lodge

Vingerklip Lodge

Please note: Our review of this property has not yet been added. Watch this space. We're working on it.

As a tailor-made tour operator, we often have to get creative when designing your perfect itinerary.

For example, your travel consultant might add this property to your itinerary if:

Location is a significant factor
It offers a unique feature that will enhance your experience
This is a last-minute booking and room availability is limited
Cost is a factor and you'd rather splash out on another part of your trip
This is a newly opened or refurbished property that we have not inspected yet

When designing your custom itinerary we have much to consider not least of which is the value proposition of every product and service included in your quote. In all cases we strive to give you the best experience possible within your budget so please feel free to ask your travel consultant to share their reasons for including this property in your itinerary.

At the base of an Ugabian terrace, Vingerklip Lodge looks out over the valley towards the striking rock feature from which it gets its name. Literally meaning Finger of Stone, Vingerklip is a 35m obelisk rising sheer out of the flat plains below. And once you’ve taken note of this geographical oddity the rest of the view is yours to enjoy.

Built from local stone and thatch, Vingerklip Lodge huddles around the base of a flat-topped terrace. Each chalet pays homage to the spectacular view and its attendant tranquility with private balconies and huge windows. En suite bathrooms and a child-friendly mezzanine make Vingerklip a great place for romance or families.

Climb the vertical stairs to the top of the terrace for a spectacular 360-degree view from the wonderful Eagle’s Nest restaurant. Or splash out and stay a night in Heaven’s Gate - a luxury suite on top of the world.

Vingerklip Lodge is in a 1,600ha private game reserve stocked with giraffe, eland, zebra, kudu, oryx, springbok, impala, warthog, steenbok and baboons. Several trails ranging from one to three hours lead out from the lodge to the actual Vingerklip and you are within a day trip outing from the other famous ancient landmarks in the area including Brandberg Mountain and the White Lady; the Petrified Forest; Twyfelfontein; the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain.
