Occupying a lofty vantage point with views over the city to the Auas and Komas Hochland Mountains, the hotel is a restored love castle built by Count von Schwerin for his fiancé, Margarethe von Heinitz, in 1914.
Much of the colonial grandeur has been emulated and the elegance, service and sophistication would have bowled young Margarethe over. The 16 en suite rooms have lavish decor, period furniture and modern amenities.
The hotel has two restaurants, serving hâute cuisine, an intimate wine cellar and fabulous function room in the original castle. The pool and landscaped garden overlook the city and its surrounding mountains.
Museums; galleries; historical buildings; local arts and crafts; restaurants; theatres; day trips to surrounding game farms
Heinitzburg Hotel is on the edge of the town centre and affords easy access to the capital city's attractions, and both the domestic and international airports.
