Occupying a lofty vantage point with views over the city to the Auas and Komas Hochland Mountains, the hotel is a restored love castle built by Count von Schwerin for his fiancé, Margarethe von Heinitz, in 1914.
Much of the colonial grandeur has been emulated and the elegance, service and sophistication would have bowled young Margarethe over. The 16 en suite rooms have lavish decor, period furniture and modern amenities.
