South Gate Campsite is situated closely to the Maqwee entrance gate into the Moremi Game Reserve.
It's basic, but offers the necessities such as shade, shared ablutions, water taps and barbecue facilities. You're anyway here to explore the area, so you're not likely to be spending much time at the campsite, except to rest midday and prepare meals.
This part of the Moremi Game Reserve sits southwest of the Khwai area on the Okavango River. South Gate Campsite is one of only few campsites in the reserve itself and that is accessible by vehicle. It will need to be a 4WD and make sure you have all the supplies you need. You're in the middle of raw wilderness here, even the camp itself is not fenced. So always have your eyes peeled and don't leave anything out that may draw unwanted 'visitors' into your camp. This is a game rich area so be on the look out for big game at all times.
