I love the remoteness of northern Namibia in Kaokoland, the incredible sunsets in Spitzkoppe and the vast endless landscapes of the Kalahari, but really anywhere in Namibia is my favourite.

At Epupa Falls when we went on an afternoon boat cruise. The water was so clean and just being able to see the white sand as the crocodiles lay there and then heading deeper in, seeing the hippos under water. It was so special.
You never know what will happen with the weather when travelling so pack light but include some clothing items that will suite any weather conditions. I personally like to do a lot of research before I go anywhere, that way you can prepare and make sure you don't miss anything.
Make each day count and take in your surroundings, time flies and before you know it, it is all over again. Do it in such a way that you will cherish it for a lifetime.

Jarien was born and grew up in the country’s capital, Windhoek. She’s from a close-knit family who loves to spend quality time together by hitting the road and exploring the country. That’s how she came to know Namibia so well and also how she fell in love with travel.
After completing her matric by homeschooling she moved to Swakopmund on the coast, where Jarien started waitressing at a local restaurant. It wasn’t for long though, a chance meeting with Edward saw her quickly become a part of the team at NTS. Right place. Right time and Jarien fits right in. Makes sense since she loves Namibia and travel as much as the rest of us.
With Jarien, what you see is what you get. She’s down to earth and easily one of the nicest people you’ll meet. You can be sure she’s dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s when it comes to your itinerary and every detail of your travel plans. She’s thorough. This combined with her knowledge and expertise equals an unforgettable holiday guaranteed.
Jarien loves the lure of luxury lodges but not more than camping. She’d rather give up the extra comforts for the experience of being close to nature or out beneath Namibia’s dark night skies with nothing else around for miles. There’s place for both though, so a combo tour is best in her opinion.
Making memories is one of Jarien’s favourite things to do and if those memories can be made while out and about on adventure, she’s in her element. That’s why she loves being a travel expert, she’s in the business of doing the same for you.
