Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 and 2: Victoria Falls

Upon arrival into Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Hotel by road where you will stay for two nights.

Established in 1904, the Victoria Falls Hotel is set in the Victoria Falls National Park with a private path to the Victoria Falls. Overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and gorge, it is one of the most famous hotels in Africa and is renowned for its elegance and charm.

Victoria Falls is an exciting hive of activity. After a day spent exploring the beautiful waterfalls area – one of seven natural wonders of the world – it's time for some action. A scenic flight over the falls is amazing and the sunset river cruises are a must; walking safaris with lions and elephants are popular highlights and there are many adventure activities available for the young-at-heart including excellent white water rafting and canoeing safaris.

Spend two days exploring Victoria Falls and either cramming in the activities or relaxing in your safari lodge with a beautiful view, a cool drink and the wonderful African weather.

    Accommodation: Victoria Falls Hotel

  • Day 3 and 4: Chobe National Park

Following breakfast and leisurely morning, you will be transferred by road to Chobe Game Lodge in the Chobe National Park, where you will stay for two nights.

Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge situated within the boundaries of Chobe National Park. Built along the riverbanks with spectacular views of the Chobe River and floodplains, this well-established lodge is a prime venue for guests to explore the Chobe National Park

The Chobe River attracts earth's greatest concentration of elephant. Knee-deep in the gentle river's flooded plains, elephants nibble in their numbers on the juicy jackalberry and mangosteen trees that tower above the ground with huge dense canopies.

The schedule of activities is flexible and varied with optional motor boat safaris, canoeing safaris, guided walks, fishing, sunset river cruises and game drives into Chobe National Park on offer at a time and frequency that suits you.

    Accommodation: Chobe Game Lodge

  • Day 5 and 6: Chobe National Park

Following the morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Kasane airport for your onward air transfer to Savute Safari Lodge, where they will stay for two nights.

Overlooking a waterhole in the Savuti Channel, Savute Safari Lodge is on permanent safari alert playing host to great concentrations of plains game: lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyena and many smaller nocturnal predators; elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and a plentiful supply of antelopes with impressive variety.

Savute Safari Lodge offers guided game drives along the Savuti Channel and into the Savuti Marshes; birding is excellent at the waterhole in front of your tented room and the main lodge.

    Accommodation: Savute Safari Lodge

  • Day 7 and 8: Okavango Delta

After an early morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Camp Moremi by light aircraft where you will stay for two nights.

Which ever way you approach it, the Okavango Delta opens up slowly to reveal its vast, watery wilderness. The land changes from harsh acacia woodlands to lush islands with broad-leafed and riparian woodlands, towering palms and thickets of impenetrable bush. Your first Okavango Delta safari stop is in the Moremi Game Reserve with a combination of land- and water-based safari activities. Morning and afternoon game drives on the floodplains are punctuated by delta-boat safaris through the channels and waterways of the Okavango.

Camp Moremi is situated on the edge of lagoon in the delta; your tented room has a private balcony overlooking the action and the main lodge has a large game viewing deck and a comfortable lounge and living area.

Wildlife in the Moremi Game Reserve is prolific including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and plenty of antelope including the rare red lechwe. Birding is superb with hundreds of species on record, plenty of specials and some renowned birding spots.

    Accommodation: Camp Moremi

  • Day 9 and 10: Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

Following the morning activity, you will be transferred to Leroo La Tau by a light aircraft where you will stay for two nights.

Leroo La Tau rises majestically above the Boteti River which stretches across the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The Makgadikgadi offers a completely different experience to the Okavango. Here, vast pans shimmer into the distance that, in the rainy summer, fill up with water attracting thousands of flamingos, pelicans and migratory waders and woodland birds. The summer rains also attract the second largest mammal migration in Africa as thousands of zebra, wildebeest and other antelope escape the predators up north for some succulent grass down south. The winter dry season offers good general game viewing and fascinating exploration expeditions to the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans.

    Accommodation: Leroo La Tau

  • Day 11: Maun

Following the morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast you will be transferred to Maun by light aircraft for your onward travel arrangements.

You may find it convenient to reverse the holiday starting in Maun (Botswana) and ending in Victoria Falls(Livingstone International); or starting and ending in Vic Falls… the options are limitless so talk to your Travel Expert now to start African Holiday.

“Thanks for all your work putting together a holiday we truly loved”

We would like to commend the high service received from Namibian Tours and Safaris especially taking into account the short length of time you had to arrange this holiday for us. The recommendations and itinerary were ideal with the majority of our stay in each location being the right duration. The whole process of booking this holiday was hassle free and we would not hesitate in recommending your services to others.

We would specifically like to thank you, Alison, for all of your hard work which resulted in a truly fabulous holiday for us. Also, it was great to meet up with you in Solitaire where you expressed so much love for your country and this was clearly mirrored in the schedule and service you presented to us allowing us to experience this fantastic country. It will not be the case of 'if' we return to Namibia, it is more the case of 'when' we will return as we enjoyed it so much.

“Edward did a super job”

A special mention for Edward he did a super job – vouchers and maps were with our car hire agency at the airport – book presentation of whole trip was clear, easy to follow and complete. He even gave us his mobile No in case we encounter some problems. Really to recommend as Tour Operator and will use them again next time.

Road – all went well and thanks to have recommended a 4Wheel Drive Car – due to rough road conditions we appreciated – you could do it with a normal car and met tourists with B type cars but they took much longer for the journeys – had more issues with flat tyres and most admitted next time they will take a 4Wheel Drive Car.

Would like to thank you for all your time spent and hard work to find best places, difficult tasks due to budget restrictions. I will recommend you and your agency whenever I can – actually already did in Joburg – hope brings you some new customers - and of course will come to you for my next trip this time to South Africa hopefully in 2012.

“Thank you again for planning a perfect vacation for us”

Dear Wilmari,
Back home and I wanted to take a moment to thank you again for planning a perfect vacation for us. I was especially pleased that for the accommodation with dinner all knew about my allergies and cooked accordingly. The Cheetah experience made my daughter very happy and they were so kind to not even charge me for taking pictures.

Highlight of our trip was the stay in Onguma The Fort and we are determined to return one day.

As pointed out before, the Namib Desert Lodge I cannot recommend to anybody (fined for driving on their property and below average dinner buffet) and also the Olivia Guesthouse was a letdown when it came to the food (lunch and breakfast).

I have posted some pictures on Flickr, maybe you want to have a look and I'm always happy to read comments.

Last but not least: Could you please send us the itinerary you prepared for us and we received at arrival electronically? Some of my friends are interested to book the same trip with you.
