Bayete Guest Lodge

On the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls you have three broad categories of accommodation: swanky hotel in the centre of the small town right next to The Falls; exclusive luxury safari lodge in a private game reserve far from The Falls; or informal, homely, welcoming, friendly, comfortable guesthouse a short distance from The Falls.

Accommodation Description

No surprise which category Bayete Guest Lodge* belongs to and its also no surprise that this is our preferred type of accommodation in Victoria Falls. Small enough to offer friendly, personal service but big enough to provide all the comfort and privacy you need on your holiday, the guesthouses of Victoria Falls offer the best value for money and a tranquil setting in which to relax after a busy day of sightseeing and activities.

Engulfed by its glorious sub-tropical garden, Bayete Guest Lodge is in a quiet, upmarket residential area about 10 minutes’ drive from Victoria Falls. Comprising just 25 rooms of various sizes and configurations the lodge is a typically African stone, thatch and timber construction. Milkwashed earthy tones compliment the thatch and add a stylish contemporary feel to the otherwise paired down décor.

Accommodation is well appointed with big, comfortable beds and romantic drapes (doubling as mosquito nets), air conditioning, tea/coffee, hairdryers, pool towels and toiletries. The en suite bathrooms are large semi-open plan affairs - if that bothers you, as it does many of our clients, please let us know and we’ll ensure you get a room with more privacy.

Breakfast is a wonderful occasion at Bayete, taken by the pool in the early warmth of the African sunshine and, not to compete with the variety of dining options in Vic Falls, lunches and dinners are simple, hearty buffet spreads cooked with love and served with pride (pre-booking required).

The lodge offers a fixed-rate shuttle service to and from town as well as the airport and the warm-hearted staff at reception will help you plan your Vic Falls activity schedule; they’ll even make all the bookings, arrange for transfers and handle the payments while you kick back by the pool with a tinkling G&T.
