Savanna is a private game viewing concession of 10,000ha within the 65,000ha Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. That means you and a handful of others have exclusive access to one of the best game viewing safari destinations in Africa.

And in contrast with the designer boutique safari lodges that signify the upper echelons of the Kruger National Park  safari world, Savanna Safari Lodge offers an paired down luxury with an emphasis on the wildlife experience warm hospitality.

Savanna Safari Lodge comprises seven luxury suites with cream-coloured canvas roofs with inner ceilings for a delightful under-the-sheets cosiness of a romantic bygone era; the executive suites have double showers, private garden areas and your very own plunge pool.

The main house is an inviting thatch construction comprising a bar; a comfortable fire-warmed lounge area and a dining area that spills onto the deck that overlooks the pool that overlooks a busy watering hole.

Game viewing in the Sabi Sand is among the best in Africa with regular sightings of big game as well the lesser-known animals combined with fascinating detail from your ranger will provide a true African wildlife safari experience.

The game-viewing vehicles have tiered seating and open sides for a safe, comfortable 360-degree view of the wildlife and African bush. With a tracker and game ranger you set off twice daily for game drives that regularly turn up with leopard, rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and a host of plains game and birdlife. The park also supports the very rare African wild dog and cheetah.


Seven luxury suites; two executive suites; one family suite with two en suite bedrooms; en suite bedrooms; bath, shower and outdoor shower; air conditioning; covered game viewing deck; safe; telephone; mini bar and tea/coffee; executive suites have private plunge pools and the luxury family suite has a lounge with fireplace, butler, private dining, private pool and private game ranger, tracker and safari vehicle.

The living area has a lounge, dining area, bar, pool, game viewing deck, library and wireless internet.


Daily activities include a morning game drive followed by a bush breakfast; an evening game drive with a sundowner stop returns by nightfall with a spotlight to pick out the nocturnal life of the bush; and an interpretive bush walk where you will learn about trees, plants, animal behaviour and the history of the park.
