Kunene River Lodge
The deck, extending out over the water and shaded by a dense canopy of riverine trees, is the focal point of this remote lodge in northern Namibia.
Accommodation Description
The Kunene River Lodge is a come-as-you-are camp that provides rustic, yet comfortable, accommodation in one of the most remote locations in the country. In such isolation, the relaxing sounds of the river gurgling by, a forest of birds and the tinkle of ice in your glass is a seductive cocktail.
Bungalows are made of local stone and thatch and each has an en suite bathroom, a private piece of forest and a view of the river. The living area comprises that enormous deck, a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and a small shop.

The lodge is situated on the river between Rucana Falls - 50km to the east - and Epupa Falls, which is about 100km to the west. Activities on land and water include rafting, canoeing, river boarding and gentle sundowner cruises. Take to the mountains in a quad bike to discover one of the most sparsely populated regions in the world. Cultural interaction can be arranged with the local Himba people - semi-nomadic pastoralists who have been roaming this inhospitable land for aeons.
