Like the rest of Team NTS, Tahita ranks high in the League of Extraordinary Namibians with Extraordinary Lives.

From running a cattle ranch in Gobabis, east of Windhoek to managing a fuel stop in the middle of the Caprivi, Tahita has lived a life far from our almost non-existent crowds and always way, way off grid.

Born and schooled in Windhoek, Tahita hit the road after matriculating to begin a lengthy and diverse life apprenticeship specialising in the far-flung crossroads-town existence.

She starting her journey working in a lodge in the middle of the desert near Sossusvlei. From there she trundled down the mountains to a stint at Solitaire. From Solitaire she ventured north stopping in Uis to work in the Brandberg and onwards as far north as you can go in Namibia to Kongola in the Caprivi. From Kongola Tahita pressed even further to Katima Mulilo where she managed a safari company.

Lucky for us, Tahita’s journey of inner- and outer-exploration led her all the way back to Swakopmund to be with her big and boisterous family. And the signs are good she’ll be around for a while: she ditched the dreads and has even started watching TV again. That’s Namibian for “settling down”.

Despite her feistiness - she recently bought herself a pit bike and thinks sunscreen is for girls - Tahita is an extreme bookworm fascinated by the humanities with philosophy, literature, history and languages being her go-to subjects.

No ordinary woman, Tahita is no ordinary Travel Consultant. With a deep love for Namibia and driven by an indomitable desire to make the most of what this world has to offer, you can be sure of her utmost care and attention at all times.
