This short Sossusvlei tour departs every Friday from Windhoek and returns early afternoon on Sunday.

Accommodation is in permanent adobe style tents with en-suite facilities or twin rooms and stunning views across the mountains and desert.

An excellent way to experience the amazing sand dune sea of the Namib and Sossusvlei region in this 3 day tour.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 and 2: Sossusvlei

Leave Windhoek for the five-hour drive on Friday at midday to arrive at your lodge late afternoon.

On the way: Spectacular mountain passes from Windhoek to the Namib Desert; look out for Hartmann's mountain zebra, springbok, gemsbok and wild ostrich along the road.

When you're there: Arrive in the evening for a relaxing sundowner drink and dinner under a starry desert sky.

Your Saturday morning starts very early with a guided excursion to the Great Sand Sea. Explore the pans including Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei - a area of petrified camel thorn trees that survived for a few hundred years after the dunes blocked the river; climb Dune 45; and visit Sesriem Canyon.

In the evening you can enjoy refreshing sundowners and dinner at your lodge.

Day 3: Windhoek

On Sunday we return to Windhoek after a leisurely breakfast and the end of your amazing Sossusvlei tour.
