Victoria Falls Activities
Everyone is catered for out here in the self-styled adventure capital of Africa. The only problem is choosing what to do so here's an abbreviated list of the most popular activities in and around Victoria Falls.
Explore Victoria Falls from Zimbabwe and Zambia
Crossing over the picturesque bridge that spans the Batoka Gorge, you can explore the falls at leisure from both sides of the Zambezi River.

side include the rain forest, which is
a protected sanctuary of ancient fig and mahogany trees alive with
birds and small mammals; Devil's Cataract, where the formation of the
next falls is slowly taking place; the Main Falls, in flow all year;
Horseshoe Falls; and Rainbow Falls, suitably picturesque and a must at
full moon when you can stay in the park after dark.

side of the falls, the Eastern Cataract, in flow
during mid to peak water levels, provides a magnificent view along the
gorge. Explore the falls from above at Livingstone Island and the
Devil's Pools; below at the Boiling Pot; and astride at Danger Point,
Chain Walk and Knife Edge.
Flight of Angels
Scenic helicopter or microlight flip through the gorge and over the falls. The impossible scale and majesty of Victoria Falls is best appreciated by an aerial perspective.
Wildlife Safari
The area surrounding Victoria Falls is all National Park with big five safaris, elephant back safaris, lion walks and excellent birding available.
White-water Rafting
With over 20 rapids from grade 2 to 6, the Batoka Gorge is the best single day's rafting in the world. Scenic multi-day trips are also available offering a good chance to see Verreaux’s eagles, taita falcons, African fish eagles, augur buzzards and rock pratincoles.
Sunset Cruise
With the thundering smoke rising from the precipice, a gentle sunset cruise above the falls provides a tranquil and scenic appetiser for the evenings' dinner entertainment.
Museums and Markets
The colourful art and crafts and historical and natural museums add depth to the visual and aural spectacle.
Lunar Rainbow
For three days during full moon, the parks stay open after dark for a magical view of the moonlit falls and the rainbow you saw earlier is now a gentle glow (Tip to all romantics: it's worth arranging your trip around; it's that special). Ask your Travel Expert for the official full moon dates as provided by the authorities of the Zimbabwean and Zambian National Parks.
Livingstone Island and Devil's Pools
On the edge of the chasm, as the water disappears only to re-emerge as a cloud of spray, the sound of the falls echoing up through the gorge. Cool off in Devil's Pools, literally on the edge of Victoria Falls and then have lunch on Livingstone Island - surely the most dramatic setting in the world.
Canoeing Safaris
Canoeing safaris above the falls, while more sedate, are as exciting as the white-water raging below the falls. Paddle through pods of hippo and past dozing crocs while spotting birds and wildlife along the water's edge.
Unwind with a Full Body Massage
All this tearing around gawking at wonderous suites, enjoying booze cruises, soaring through the air, plowing raging rapids and wining and dining will take its toll. Restore sensibility with a foot massage or full body aromatherapy treatment.
