Ai Ais Hot Springs
Part of the government-run Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Ai-Ais Hot Springs Resort is a sprawling establishment with a warehouse-shaped indoor spa and chalets dotted along the riverbed.
The resort is located in the southern end of the Fish River conservation area and occupying a bend in the riverbed. Acacias provide the shade and the surrounding cliffs of the canyon and the Hunsplato Mountains provide the dramatic backdrop.
Accommodation is basic and comes in three forms: bungalows, self-catering chalets and camping. Facilities here are more resort-like than most of the so-called resorts and these include a restaurant, bar, shop, kiosk, outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, hot spa, tennis courts and a filling station.
