Sams Giardino Hotel
Sam of Sam's Giardino is a Swiss-born and Swiss-trained hotelier with over 20 years in the business. His love-at-first-site relationship with Namibia began several years ago and since then he has bought and built the Giardino.
The small hotel, in a quiet suburb of Swakopmund has been infused with his larger-than-life personality. The result is relaxed, comfortable and homely inn that has guests returning year after year.
Sam's has eight rooms and a family unit. Each has been given a stylish, 'retro' swish and has an en suite bathroom, direct-dial telephone, hair dryer, European two-pin power outlet, travel magazines, and a view of the lush garden.
The living space features a bistro for breakfast and mid-morning coffee, a bar and lounge with a fireplace, a rather elegant dining room and a gallery lounge. Sam has built a walk-in wine cellar and conducts daily tastings of many fine South African vintages.
Service is efficient and friendly making Sam's Giardino an excellent base for exploring Swakopmund and surrounds.
