Accommodation Description

The Zebra River Lodge is a charming and comfortable farmhouse.

Zebra River Lodge is situated in the Zaris Mountains on a 13,000h of private land that is made up of canyons, rivers, springs, mountains and hiking trails.

The lodge has seven spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms and each decorated with the same homely comfort as the rest of the farmhouse. A large shady verandah overlooks a large shady garden and plunge pool to the canyons and mountains beyond.

Hiking and exploring are the main pursuits at Zebra River Lodge and Rob has marked several excellent trails that take in the steep canyons, beautiful views and luxurious natural springs. Bird watching is good and the geology and palaeontology of the area are fascinating. A large telescope is brought out on clear nights, which amounts to most evenings.

Using Zebra River Lodge as a base, regular visitors often stay for up to two weeks and explore the nearby Sossusvlei Dunes and Sesriem Canyon, the Naukluft Mountains and the southern Namib.
