Wolwedans Boulders Camp
Price: From US$658 (Our pricing)
Location: Sossusvlei, Namibia
Accommodation Description
With just four suites, hugging a massive jumble of granite overlooking a ridiculously scenic Namib Desert, Wolwedans Boulders Camp is the most exclusive and luxurious in the Wolwedans line-up of desert accommodation.
An hour's drive from the reception area through the nature reserve, which borders with the Namib-Naukluft Park, Wolwedans Boulders Camp is about as far from civilisation as you can get and still have ice in your G n' T.
Far enough apart, each of the four suites is raised on a wooden deck and features a wrap-around balcony, roll-up sides, en suite bathroom and the best in luxury furnishings. The main lodge at Wolwedans Boulders Camp is a communal living area with yet more decking, a lounge and a cosy indoor dining area for when the winter scuttles your al fresco dining plans.
The NamibRand is a privately owned nature reserve that covers 171,000ha of the pro-Namib desert east of the Namib-Naukluft Park, which forms a 100km border with the reserve. Combined, these reserves cover a staggering 51,700sq km – an area larger than Switzerland. So to say that Wolwedans Boulders Camp is all about peace, tranquility, escape and majestic scenery would be a mild understatement.
We recommend at least a two-night stay to get into the swing of things and to spend two nights at one of the other Wolwedans desert lodges for a complementary experience of equal excellence.
