Accommodation Description

Throughout Namibia, the modest guest farm has a place next to the five-star luxury giants and Weltevrede is one such establishment. Meaning 'contented' the owners of Weltevrede place an emphasis on personal attention and a relaxed and accommodating style.

The farm is located half way between Solitaire and Sesriem and is surrounded by the elements of a typical Namib Desert landscape - hazy mountains, grass-covered gravel plains, acacia trees and iron-red sand dunes.

Twelve en suite double chalets face the rolling plains of the desert and the rooms are comfortably appointed. The farm has a tented dune camp and a basic campsite for the self-sufficient. Dinner is taken en masse in the lapa - a large, open-sided thatched gazebo typical of these hot climes - and the fare is hearty to say the least.

Like the chalets the swimming pool has a view over the desert and if you fancy a bit of activity you can go on 4WD trails, scenic nature walks, sundowner drives and day trips to Sossusvlei and Sesriem. Springbok, gemsbok, ostriches and other desert-adapted creatures pop up from time to time on the farm so be sure to have your camera ready.
