Agama River Camp
Agama River Camp is a charming, home-made rustic campsite and lodge 50km from the entrance to Sossusvlei Park in the Namib-Naukluft Nature Reserve.
Named after the colourful lizards inhabiting the desert, Agama River Camp is an unpretentious campsite with chalets lining a dry riverbed near Sossusvlei.
The campsites are partially enclosed by latticework fences and shaded by large acacia tress; the en suite chalets are a little way off for additional privacy and the private campsite is about 6km from the main lodge and well worth the extra effort for its scenic location and the total privacy.
The main lodge has a lively restaurant (pre-booking required) and bar and a swimming pool. Several hiking trails lead directly off from the camp.
