If it's a relaxed and comfortable overnight stop to Etosha that you want, that's what you will get at Ombinda Country Lodge.

Twenty thatched chalets, some cunningly built of bricks and mortar and covered with wooden cladding, form a laager around the lush garden, the voluminous dining room and bar area, and the swimming pool. Each room has a double or twin bed, tiled floors, thatched roofs and an en suite bathroom with shower. There are a handful of campsites with electricity, communal ablutions and full use of the bar, restaurant and swimming pool.

The main living area is a large open-sided lapa that serves up hearty Namibian kos - grilled game meats, hefty doses of starch and home grown seasonal vegetables. The pool is an obvious choice of focal point in this perennially hot region.

Located just south of the small town of Outjo, Ombinda Country Lodge is a short drive to Etosha making it a convenient stop en route to the National Park or the far north. The lodge has its own nine-hole golf course, bird watching is good and there are three tennis courts - this is a country club after all.
