With a view over the Chobe River, Chobe Chilwero (pronounced chee-LAIR-o) is a plush African luxury lodge with a sublime setting.
Accommodation at Chobe Chilwero is, appropriately, elephantine in all respects. From the massive four-poster beds, to the gargantuan bathrooms, complete with free-standing tub and two showers, the 15 safari houses are pure luxury.
Covering 60 sq m, the suites also have large shaded verandas and a private garden with hammocks and a thatched gazebo with a view of the Chobe River.
The living area is equally sublime where a fine dining experience awaits. Facing the river, enjoy silver service beneath the stars with the occasional herd of elephants tramping past.
Chobe Chilwero has a complete spa with full time staff and range of treatments, therapies and relaxation sessions available should the rigours of a five-star luxury safari lodge become too burdensome.
15 luxury safari houses; en suite bathrooms with free-standing bath and two showers (one outdoors); giant four-poster beds; air conditioning; mini bar; private veranda and garden overlooking the river; gazebo and hammocks; dining area; game viewing deck; swimming pool; wine cellar; wellness spa
Game drives; motorboat safaris; sunset and scenic river cruises; sport fishing; day trips to Victoria Falls.
With all this luxury and scale you'd think the folk at Chobe Chilwero were compensating for a so-so game viewing safari. Au contraire, au contraire. With over 200,000 of them the Chobe National Park has the greatest concentration of elephants anywhere in the world. The Chobe River and its vast plains also attract a great number and variety of birds, antelope large and small, plains game large and small, and the fearsome predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and wild dog.
Activities at Chobe Chilwero include water safaris on delta boats, game drives, sunset cruises on the Chobe River and day trips to Victoria Falls.
